Living the Dream

Posted on March 5, 2019September 6, 2019 by Steph

February 2019

We’ve been on Narrowboat Hang Loose for 3 weeks now – you can read about our Maiden Voyage here.  It is just amazing – it’s everything we dreamed of – and more.

Had a lovely walk today – I used to blog about each of our walks but we go on that many now, I can’t possibly blog about each one!!

Gorgeous morning for a walk

Had a lovely chilled day – washed the boat – sat and had a beer by the lock – we really are living the dream!

Had a lovely meal at The Malt in Aston-on-Trent, the pub is dog friendly, and the food is fab.  I had a rack of ribs with cheese and beer croquettes and Paul had a curry.   We highly recommend this pub – if you are cruising along the Trent & Mersey and you moor up anywhere near Aston – go – it’s definitely worth a walk up to the village.

I went for a little run – I’m really trying to get back into it as I have not been running much due to bit of a dodgy hip – but I won’t bore you with that.  Anyway I managed 2.5 miles, it was a glorious sunny morning and I really enjoyed it.  Had another 2.5 mile run a couple of days later!

We are big lovers of the U Tube vloggers and I have found another one – The Well Deck Diaries – found this via a FB group and we’re really enjoying it – if you like all the Boat vloggers then add this one to your list.

The weather has been amazing

We’ve had some really cold frosty mornings

And then we’ve had the hottest February day on record – so of course, we had to have a BBQ

We’ve had a lovely day – had some friends come and see Hang Loose and had a lovely sunny walk.

Chan, Ross and Winston came to visit – lovely evening chatting and having a few beers.

And so ends another lovely day

We are so happy – this is absolutely everything we have dreamed of for so long and we are enjoying every single minute.

Wow, this looks great. I’ve always thought of what live would be like living on a canal boat (suh as a narrow boat). This looks so picteresque. Thank you for sharing.
